When I was growing up I remember my grandparents as folks who would never leave the home in which they raised their children. There was no talk of downsizing or moving to a better climate. Their home was much more than a roof over their heads. It was memories. Good times and bad. Every morning my grandfather got up at 6am to take an hour walk around the neighborhood. I often would tag along, marveling at the many stops he would make along the way to check on his neighbors' gardens, chat about baseball or point out an unkempt yard with a twitch of his finger and shake of his head. He represented a generation of tradition and routine, comfort and stability.
In many ways, we all love the homes we live in. After all, we chose them and most of us enjoy all the work (or at least the results) of making them our own. But I have to say it never crossed my mind that the house I live in now would be my forever home. In fact, I often think of downsizing.
I am eight years away from leaving my 1855 farmhouse in Fryeburg, Maine, but when I do, I think I may join the legions of people who have chosen the condo lifestyle.
Condo buyers enjoy the maintenance-free lifestyle that condo living provides. They make their purchase decisions based on how important three things are to them: Location, Views, and Amenities. What I love about the Mount Washington Valley is that we have it all. Ski condos in Bartlett at the base of Attitash Ski Area, condos with panoramic mountain views, condos where you can walk to North Conway Village, golf condos at Wentworth in Jackson, condos with a lot of amenities, and investment condos with strong rental income.
No matter what your stage of life, from just starting out, to planting roots, to the downsized mobile lifestyle condos can provide, our Agents will be there to help you make the right decisions. If you think condo living may be for you, check out the townhomes we have below, or give one of our Agents a call. Who knows? It may be just the change you're looking for.
